Just prior to the tragic events that brought devastation to Lebanon’s capital city, H&M was set to launch its newest collaboration with Sandra Mansour, a Beirut-based brand.
Nearly one month on from the horrific blast, it’s estimated the explosion killed an estimated 200 people and has left 6,000 injured and damaged entire communities in Beirut.
Due to the tragic event, the H&M X Sandra Mansour was postponed, but has now launched in stores and online and features a 15-piece collection which is titled ‘Fleur de Soleil’.
Also to mark the launch, the Swedish high street brand is set to donate Dhs367,000 ($100,000) to the Lebanese Red Cross – a donation which will go towards helping those most affected by the blast.

Being based in Beirut, the designer was affected by the devastation like so many other fashion brands in the Lebanese capital.
Following the blast which happened at the beginning of August, Mansour shared a photo of some of the debris which occurred in her Beirut-based atelier.
“Our heart and soul is aching for our Lebanon,” she captioned the post. “Praying for all the victims of this horrific event. To all those lost, may Your Souls Rest in Peace, and to all those affected, we are here to help.
“To our SM Team, we are so glad you are all safe and sound. Thank you for your dedication and effort. Without you, we would not be.
“Praying for our Lebanon. May God bless and protect this nation and its people. Stay strong beautiful Lebanon.”

Discussing H&M’s support for Lebanon in conjunction with their collaboration, Mansour said they were “heartened” by the assistance.
“During these dark times, we are heartened by both H&M and the world’s support for Lebanon,” the founder explained. “We believe in the power of light and spreading it.”
